Would Chantel be the ‘new Priya’?

At 18 and at her first Paralympics, Chantel Wolfenden backed up her S7 400m freestyle gold at the 2002 IPC swimming world championships with gold in the same event at the Athens summer Paralympics. Wolfenden won a total of six medals in Athens, prompting comparisons with Priya Cooper, another swimmer with cerebral palsy who had ‘owned’ the S8 400m in the 1990s. Unfortunately for Australian swimming, Athens was Wolfenden’s only Paralympics.
