The book

In conjunction with “Paralympic Stories”, a book on the history of the Paralympic movement in Australia is being written by one of our program partners from the University of Queensland, Professor Murray Phillips. The book is due to be published later this year. It will provide a narrative of the history of the Paralympic movement in Australia for those seeking more detail, including ‘stories behind the stories’.

While the book is being finished, please explore the “Paralympic Stories” website which is a central element of a broader Paralympics Australia program – the Australian Paralympic History Project. This program has been established to capture, manage and preserve the history of the Paralympic movement in Australia in a way that is relevant, accessible and places the Paralympic movement within its broader social context. Paralympic Stories draws on other elements of the project to enable you to explore the stories of Paralympic sport in Australia.
