Kalgoorlie crowd watches Paras push around police cadets
A light moment during a game between the WA Avion Paras and the Police Cadets wheelchair basketball teams at an exhibition game in Kalgoorlie. In the 1950s and 60s, the WA wheelchair basketballers played exhibitions in many country centres, from Geralton to Albany to raise money and to promote wheelchair sport. The games often attracted good crowds. Paras in dark from L to R: John Turich, Kevin Cunningham, Roger Cockerill and Frank Ponta. Police cadet on the ground at left is Laurie Heil, others unknown.
