The Sydney Paralympic Organising Committee made full use of the pavilions at the new Royal Sydney Showgrounds, part of the Sydney Olympic Park complex, to ensure that as many sports as possible could be held in close proximity during the 2000 Sydney Paralympics. Together with $15 day passes, this helped bring spectators in large numbers to all sports. Here, Australian John Richardson makes a shot in one of his matches. After the Games, the specialist court surfacess were auctioned off, rather than being made available as a legacy to the sports.
