Australian physical therapies staff treat athletes in the Team HQ at the Atlanta 1996 Paralympic Games. During the Games, the treatment room becomes an important centre for athletes to gather, as well as receiving essential treatment for injuries and massages to enhance performance. The quality of the medical support services available to the Team was a contributing factor in its success, as the Australian Paralympic Federation made significant strides in providing athletes with the same level of services as their able-bodied colleagues received.
