Australian swimmer Elizabeth Edmondson at the 1964 summer Paralympics. At 14, Edmondson was the youngest competitor at the Games. She won three gold medals, all with a world record and was Australia’s youngest gold medalist until Maddison Elliott in 2012. The day after Edmondson returned from Tokyo, she was back at school.
