The first Royal North Shore Paraplegic Games

After the successful Mt Wilga sports day in December 1959, the Royal North Shore Hospital hosted a return event on 25 February 1960, with eight events, concluding with a basketball game between teams from RNSH and the Mount Wilga Rehabilitation Centre. The program stated that “To-day’s events are a preliminary to choosing a team from New South Wales which will compete in Melbourne next month. There, a National Team of sportsmen will be selected to represent Australia at the 1960 Paralympics in Rome.” However, unlike Rome, there were no swimming or fencing events on this day.
