Kingsley Bugarin dominated the men’s SB12 breaststoke event

Kingsley Burgarin won the men’s SB12 100m breaststroke event at the Sydney Summer Paralympics by almost 5 seconds, in a dominant performance. Bugarin also won the 200m individual medley and was second in the 400m freestyle in Sydney. He retired from Paralympic competition after Sydney with the highest total number of medals by an Australian at that time – nineteen. By 2019 he had been passed only by fellow swimmer Matthew Cowdrey.
