It was the first “Paralympic” Village – and it was “marvellous” also

These Games were the first time that the organising committee used the word “Paralympic” in association with the Games but it wasn’t until 1988 that the Games were formally known as the Paralympics. After the travails of Rome, the athletes welcomed the facilities and resources that were provided by the Tokyo organisers.
