Australian athlete Cherrie Ireland competes in the women’s Class 3 wheelchair slalom event at the 1972 summer Paralympics. In wheelchair slalom, athletes completed an obstacle course through cones and up and down ramps, as quickly and cleanly as possible. Ireland competed in athletics and swimming at the Games, without winning any medals. Her time in the Wheelchair Slalom scored her sixth place.
