Bruce Wallrodt was part of the dominant throws group

Bruce Wallrodt picked up a bronze medal in the F53 seated javelin event at the 1996 summer Paralympics, after winning gold in the same event at the previous two Paralympic Games. As compensation, Wallrodt won gold in the shot put. He and other experienced throwers, such as Terry Giddy, anchored a diverse Australian throws group that set the basis for the Australian success in athletics in Atlanta.
