Australian at the swimming event

The swimming was at the magnificent Mawana indoor heated pool. The morning events were mostly was quadriplegics and class 2 paras who all swim 25m. David McPherson from VIC, Eric Bolton QLD and John Hayne NSW had an Australian monopoly of the 3 x 25m individual medley. Pam Pauley QLD was the only class 2 women entrant, so she swam with the boys. The Australian swimming squad had trained very hard under coach Bob Hurtbride throughout the preceding week to bring them to their peak following months of hard work at home. David is delighted with his gold.
