In 1988, Australia celebrated the Bicentennial of its colonisation by the British with a year of activities and events. Expo 88 in Brisbane was the venue to hand over a cheque for $5,000 to the ’88 Paralympics Appeal from Pick ‘n Pay Hypermarket, attended by athletes and dignitaries.
