Moving large numbers of wheelchair users quickly and easily between the Games’ Village and venues is a logistical challenge at every Paralympic Games. Following a process that worked for the preceding two Games, the organisers of the 1980 summer Paralympics created ramped platforms so that wheelchair users could easily access the buses used for Games transport.
