Amanda Fraser’s first Games was as a swimmer

Australian swimmer Amanda Fraser attacks the breaststroke leg in the S7 200IM at the 2000 Sydney Paralympics. Fraser finished 6th in the final and won bronze medals in the freestyle 34 points relay and the 50m S7 freestyle. Fraser had started her sport career in athletics and switched back to that sport after the Sydney Games, winning silver medals in discus in 2004 in Athens and 2008 in Beijing. In Sydney, Fraser’s mother, Liz Fiveash, was an assistant coach of the Australian men’s basketball team for athletes with an intellectual disability.
