Members of the Australian Team pose before the opening ceremony of the 1988 winter Paralympic Games in Innsbruck. Left to right: Michael Milton, unknown, Michael Roach, Kyrra Grunnsund, Hans Hinterholzer (coach), Evan Hodge. Michael Roach attended the Games with the Team, even though he did not compete. He had been diagnosed with terminal bone marrow cancer shortly before the Games and died soon after his return to Australia.
